Walnut West Point Pistol Gift Box

This walnut pistol gift box was built as a graduation presentation piece for a West Point Class of 2024 commemorative pistol. The goal was to make the box feel like part of the gift itself: a finished display case with personalized engraving, red lining, and room for the pistol, coin, and nameplate to sit together cleanly.

The outside keeps a restrained walnut finish with the class artwork engraved into the lid. Inside, the bright red lining creates contrast against the dark walnut frame and the black-and-gold pistol, while the engraved walnut nameplate ties the interior back to the material of the box.

This project is a good example of combining laser engraving with traditional box hardware and finishing details. The result is less like packaging and more like a permanent keepsake: something built to protect the item, tell the story, and stay display-worthy after the presentation.
